There hasn't been up to 10 people interested in doing the FhE bOards to get the group discount for next month. So I am thinking that each one of us should order our own and either do the cut your own board option for 17.00 or buy the whole kit for 25.00 plus shipping.

It also has the measurements needed to cut your board if you decide to do it that way.

Hello Jenny,

In order to have your order to you before July 9th we will need order and payment no later than June 20th. This way we can have your order in the mail no later than June 30th. This puts our turn around time at about a week. We usually require two weeks but if you can get us numbers as soon as you receive sign ups we can get started on the order.

Cutting your own wood for this project will save you on shipping. You can usually go to your local Home Depot or Lowe's and they will cut your wood for you. The size for each piece is 11 1/4-12inches X 24inches.

Hello Jenny,

The cost for the FHE boards would be $25 plus shipping. There is no tax added when we ship out of state. Shipping costs will depend on how many boards are ordered, this will determine the weight. One way to keep shipping costs down is to have you cut your own wood. You can usually get it cut at your local Home Depot or Lowe's stores. This is something you can look in to. If you decided to provide your own wood then the cost of vinyl, chains, wood disks and nails would be $17 per kit. If you order more than 10 kits then the price would be $15 per kit. Payment would have to be received 2 weeks prior to ship date. Thanks for your interest. Let us know if you have any other questions. We look forward to working with you.

I can't have every board cut but if your willing to have it cut to size for yourself. ( I will ask for measurements) Then I can go ahead and order the rest of the kits to keep the costs down any where from 17-15.00 dollars depending upon how many people sign up. Other options...you could order the kit on your own or we could order the entire kit for 25.00 dollars plus shipping as a group. ( I'll also ask if we get a deal if we decide to do it this way.)

InterchAngeable wReathS- JUne 18th

There has been a request to do a project on interchangeable wreaths. This way you can use one wreath for every Holiday and save on storage and money. The only thing that you would have to change up would be the decorations on the wreath. Here are a couple of Ideas for the 4Th of July. If you need decorations for another Holiday that's fine too! I was thinking we could all meet up at Hobby Lobby or Michael's and pick out what you needed as a change of pace or if you rather get all the materials ahead a time that's also fine. Please let me know what ya'll prefer.

Materials:

WreaTh- in any style, shape or size that you want.

Decorations- For the Holiday that your decorating for ( find something that you don't have to use a glue gun with. For example- clothes pins, ribbon, material, and anything that you could attach with wire.)

( If you have please let me know) We could do a up in the air project group...I know that there are past projects that haven't been completed and need to or you may just want to do your own project. The other day I was reading Nie Nie and she blogged about making silhouettes for her family each year in April. I really liked the Idea...it gives a great presentation on your wall. It can be very cost effective. It's meaning full and I even remember making them in elementry school. There are two different choices that you can do. One is made out of paper and the other is made with felt. I am going to be doing the Victorian Silhouette that is made from paper.

digital or film camera ( I would take a picture of your subject from the side and print it out to the size needed or if you don't have a camera just put a piece of paper on the wall with a light turned on making a shadow so that you can trace around your subjects side profile.) I know everyone was getting really excited for this months project!! But I am really sorry to have to cancel it due to my girls being sick and also for myself having a tuff first trimester.

Feel free if there are still a bunch of you still willing to go ahead and get together please be my guest. I don't want to have to ruin all the fun if someone else still wants to do it. The step by step directions on how to make the sugar eggs are on the post below. If you do want to wait ...I am planning to do the same Sugar Egg project for Thurs. April 9th.

Even though my daughter, Dawn, has my Easter candy molds I still can make Chocolate-Covered Cocoanut/Peanut Butter Easter Eggs each year. These large candy eggs are hand-made without using a mold, covered in rich chocolate, and decorated. All you need is a couple medium-sized bowls, wax paper, and some colored icing to get started. My home-madeChocolate-Covered Cocoanut/Peanut Butter Easter Eggs takes around a half an hour each to prepare (not counting the time to chill the eggs) and makes one pound or two half pound eggs.

Cocoanut Egg

1 lb powered sugar
½ c condensed milk
1 stick of melted margarine
1 c cocoanut
½ c chopped nuts (optional)

Mix ingredients thoroughly by hand in a medium-sized bowl and shape into one or two large eggs. Place on wax paper and chill for one hour. Then dip chilled egg in melted chocolate. Let sit until egg is room temperature and slice with a sharp knife to serve. May decorate Chocolate-Covered Cocoanut Egg with colored icing!

Peanut Butter Egg

1 lb powered sugar

We need to decide on one thing before we go and have fun.

The date... The Date decides how much the painting fee will be. For example if we go to Mad Potter on Monday Feb. 9th the painting fee is FREE, but if we go on our regular day Thurs Feb 12th the painting fee is 6 dollars. The normal Painting fee for an Adult with out a discount is 8 Dollars. So we do get a discount either day that we go. We just need to decide if you want to pay a fee or not. Please leave a comment!!

ViNyl SiGns will be our next project for this month.

Materials needed:

Wooden Board- that will need to be about the size of what you want it to say. ( you can find them at a craft store or go to Home Depot or Lowes and have some that works there cut it for you.)

Acrylic Paint or Wood Stain - Your choice of color.

Vinyl refill at Hobby Lobby in the color you prefer ( Crystal could you give us a comment on what we need to be looking for when buying it, like what it looks like and maybe where to find it in the store. Thanks)

Sandpaper or sanding block- This is use to sand the edges of the board when you finished painting or staining your project.

Spray Can Sealer- This will seal your project when you are finished. ( You could also get a spray glitter for something extra.)

P.S. Check Hobby Lobby online for Coupons! And a Special thanks to Crystal for letting us use her vinyl machine! You rock.

I wanted to find out if everyone was done with their Advent Calendar? Or if you need more time and want to finish it at the next meeting on the 11th. Please let me know.

Our Next project we will be making 'VinyL siGnS'. We will either be doing this project Dec 11th or January 8th. The Date will be determined by the finishing of the Advent Calendars and by having enough time to buy the supplies.

I Will announce by Sunday what project we will be doing.

I went to Hobby Lobby this week and found out it's cheaper to get the different colors of felt by the sheet. This is to be used for your illustrations and days till Christmas. This way you can get lots of colors of felt for only 5 for a Dollar instead of 4.99 a yard.
Please note that you still need to buy the background felt by the yard.

The printed fabric - most of them are 30% off.

The Felt is not on sale so you could defiantly use the 40% coupon on it.

Have fun shopping and let me know if anyone needs help or needs me to go with them on Sat morning.

Does anyone have a big cutting board with measurements? This would be a lot faster to cut everything out.

Hobby Lobby has a coupon online for 'One' regularly priced Item for 40 percent off. They do have felt and cool fabric and I don't think that the felt is on sale. So that could be a great thing to get a deal on or something else that you need for supplies.

The coupon is good until sat the 8th.

Christmas Tree Advent Calendar: Height 61 Inches Width 36.5 Inches

3 1/2 yard Any color Green Felt (This is based off a width of a bit over 43 inches of fabric. The yardage could be smaller than the measurements I made above if the width is bigger than mentioned. Please make sure you double check the width and height of the felt before having it cut. This could save you money by doing so. I know that there's a lot of felt but you will be doubling the felt and sewing it together to create a solid tree.)

Different colors of felt or fabric 1/4 yard of each color - ( yellow felt for the star on top.) This is to make the different shapes and pictures for each day.

Shaped Felt- Numbers, letters,and Christmas shapes. You could also have it monogrammed after sewing the calendar together.

Ribbons 1/2yard to a yard- to decorate with. (This is optional)

Measuring Tape - This is for double checking the amount of fabric needed while at the store.

Needle- For hand sewing

1-2 Spools of thread- match it to the colors of felt or fabric that you pick out.

Sewing machine - If you have one

Scissors

Double edging- to sew a Loop in the back for hanging.

A dowel rod- for added support to hang up the tree. ( We could probably share a big piece and cut it down)

Drill- I will bring one

2 1/2 yards of any color Felt

All the other need supplies are mentioned in the Christmas tree Advent Calendar.

Notes:

This project will require a lot of sewing and we will only have two times to meet. Once this month and once in December before Christmas. This Calendar will require you to put additional hours of sewing out side of the group meetings.

If you still want to make the Advent Calendar but don't think you will have the time please ask me for additional ideas or if you would like to do a easier one please let me know ASAP! By Friday the 7th.

You can share much of the need materials above to save on money. And if needs be we can all go shopping for materials before our next meeting. I was thinking this Sat. November 8th in the morning some time.

After our first meeting yesterday.... we decided that our first project would be making a BIrthDay - siGn bAnNer!

I got in touch with Kristin who made the banner in the above example about how much fabric is needed and this is what she said,"My triangles are 8.5" across at the top. So if you bought a 1/4 yard, it would be enough if it didn't shrink very much at all (I would probably get 1/3 yd just to be safe!). of course, if you want yours to be a different size, than basically if just needs to be a wide enough piece to cut them out of with an allowance for shrinkage (a couple inches, I would guess)." Hope that helps.
